Corsair is a company that makes many components and one of them is power supplies. We are going to look at one of their TX series today, specifically the Corsair TX850M Semi Modular Power Supply. Corsair does have a non-modular version of this PSU. The TX Series Modular PSUs are according to Corsair, “guaranteed to deliver their full rated specifications in environments up to 50° C. They have high-quality Japanese capacitors to provide performance and reliability for powering your PC components.”
Corsair built the TX line of power supplies for gaming and performance. This power supply delivers up to 850 watts of power for your components. It is SLI and Crossfire certified with a max of four PCI-E connectors. They were designed to be 6 or 8 pin configurations. The first set of PCI-E power connects are permanently attached inside the PSU and the second set are modular. Along with the two PCI-E cables you get SATA power connectors that are modular.
Gold-certified efficiency and semi-modular cabling for low energy use and easy installation
TX Series semi-modular power supplies are ideal for basic desktop systems where low energy use, low noise, and simple installation are essential. All of the capacitors are 105°C rated, Japanese brand, to ensure solid power delivery and long term reliability. 80 PLUS Gold efficiency reduces operating cost and excess heat. Flat, sleeved black modular cables with clearly-marked connectors make installation fast and straightforward, with good-looking results.
