The Antec GX505 is part of the GX series of cases designed for gamers on a budget. The GX505 is a slight revision of the GX500 case. The main difference is the all new front and top panels, and a built-in fan controller switch.
The GX505 has a nice design and has your accessible front drive bays. The front drive bays are rapidly becoming obsolete. I still have the need for a Blue-Ray drive and I am always a little disappointed when a case doe not offer a slot for one. Well if that is concern the GX505 has three!
The spacious interior of the GX505 Window features many benefits, such as cable routing management, ample clearance for extra long graphics cards up to 15″ (380 mm) in length, support for water cooling, SSD support, and USB 3.0 ports. Tool-less drive make installation a snap, while washable pre-installed 120mm fans, fan control switch, and a windowed side panel for showing off your build, the GX505 Window has all the essential features of a serious gaming chassis at an unbeatable price.

The GX505 is a metal housing with a plastic front. The front piece pops on and off very easy and does not seem to damage the clipping components. This will allow for a lot of wear and tear. The front drive bay covers remove with the simple push of the tab on each end. they also go back into place very solid. I have seen a few case that were removing the bay cover meant you could no longer reinstall later. Not to worry Antec has a nice design on the mechanisms. The built in fan control (High/off/Low) allows you to achieve the balance between high performance and quiet computing. The top tray can be used to place your additional accessories, such as mobile phone for easy accessibility.
The GX505 Window has enough space to support extra long GPU cards. With the removal of the middle HDD cage, this creates direct airflow to your GPU and motherboard without any heat transfers. Capable of supporting two way SLI or crossfire with 7 x expansion slots, makes this chassis future proof for later upgrades and translates to a well spent investment for a chassis. The I/O ports supports 2 x USB 3.0 ports – up to 5 Gbit/s for SuperSpeed transferring rate.
An optional 120 mm fan mount is available on the right side panel. This optional fan mount can then be a great addtion to effectively cool your GPU directly. This greatly increases the lifespan of your GPU by keeping them cool while fully operating. GX505 Window allows the user to be flexible and will support different configuration to keep your hardware’s performance at a high level.
